A Moment in Pandemic
​
The reverence of observation, stillness.

All else dissipates. Time curls up on my lap.



Perhaps this will save us –

chickadee in spruce

old snow retracting at the speed of glacier.

​



A hundred mountain mornings ago, I sat

on summit, chill of first light. Elk-call resounding

through the valley. The sound echoing

echoing through my chest. I felt

truly alive.
