The People's Poetry Festival

I was so pleased that visual artist Terra Simieritsch chose to represent my poem This Gosssamer World, which was inspired by the poetic love story of Patrick Lane and Lorna Crozier.

in this waning world, she is moon
she is screech of hawk
she is flash of blackbird red
on cattail break of dawn

she is coo of dove
she is sow hungry from wintersleep
crashing through the bush
she is the golden tremble of aspen
before the fall


A celebration of poetry and art, this DIY festival returns thanks to a partnership with Loft 112 and LimeLighter. Take in workshops, a poetry walk, and an evening filled with poetry, spoken word, live music, and film.
There’s even a free art opening that features creations from 10 artists who took a poem and ran with it to create works of art like no other. Throughout the evening, hear poets read their poems and artists share about their process. All the art is for sale so you can take your favourite home with you.
