We Are One ... Poems for the Pandemic

Humbled that my poem Waiting was published in this pandemic anthology, We Are One.

​Published by Calgary-based Bayeaux Arts, We Are One brings together the words of more than 75 poets across Canada, all tasked with expressing their thoughts and feelings about these strange months of isolation, fear, boredom and grief that has gripped the world since COVID-19 took hold in mid-March.

​... (It) showcases the wide range of voices Melnyk sought after Calgary-based Bayeaux Arts publisher Ashish Gupta asked the retired University of Calgary communications professor to collect poems. Ulrich, while presumably a newbie to the publishing world, shares pages with an impressive collection of award-winners, poet laureates and a healthy sampling of Calgary’s poetry scene. Contributors include local luminaries such as Sheri-D Wilson and Micheline Maylor, both former Poet Laureates of Calgary; and award winners such as Roberta Rees, Joan Crate, Cecelia Frey, Beth Everest, Weyman Chan and Melnyk himself.
